Monochrome!

So monochrome is making a huge come back this year! Personally I am saying YAY! I love monochrome,! But overkill, too much monochrome can be bad, with monochrome there is a little black line, it is so easy to do too much and so easy to do not enough! :)

I have searched the internet to find you some fabulous key pieces you can add to your monochrome themed room!

These are available from For Keeps, a gorgeous online store. They are made by Amie, she hand paints all of these and they can be done in lots of colours!

TIP: GREAT FOR HANGING AROUND A DRESSER OR ABOVE A MIRROR!

These amazing furniture pieces are handcrafted to! I love the detailing on these! The tables are avaialble from PamPosh, they can also be customised to any size or colour you like. They can be bought online at:

TIP: DON'T OVERDRESS DETAILING! A PLAIN VASE WITH BIG BRIGHT FLOWERS WOULD WORK GREAT!

DIY: Revamp Memo Board Tutorial

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to revamp your memo board to make it look fabulous!
Plain memo boards are a thing of the past, and it shouldn't have to cost you an arm and a leg to get a glam memo board!

What you will need:

A memo board
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun (or normal glue)
Assorted ribbon (you can choose any colours, I went with my business theme colours :))
Paint (doesn't have to be wood paint, I used a blue emulsion)
A tac (most important, you have to show of your work!)

Step 1
Lay your board on a flat surface. Take the ribbon you have chosen and decide how many colours you would like. I went with two, to keep it simple but go crazy, you could even do a different colour for each stripe.
Measure each stripe by placing it across the board and cut. If at this point you would rather use a ruler and measure that's ok.
Cut 3 pieces for the horizontal stripes and 4 for the vertical stripes.
Please excuse my horrible manicure lol
Step 2
Glue your 3 horizontal stripes on first. Remember to only glue each end of the ribbon to the board and not the whole strip, otherwise you wont be able to place any of your memos on the board.
Pull the ribbon tight when gluing to the board to make sure your memos wont fall out.
Step 3
Take your last remaining pieces of ribbon, weave them through the black and again glue the ends to  the board to keep them in place, Remember to pull each piece nice and tight before gluing it down.
Once finished it should look like this.

Step 4
Take the paint you have selected ( I have gone with First Dawn, you can go with any colour you like) You may require a paint brush, with some testers, like this one a brush or sponge is already attached. Paint the edges of your board, if you place the board on a table you can move around the table so you don't have to pick it up and smudge the paint.

Final step
Allow to dry, mine took between 15-20 minutes. Once it is dry, grab your tac and pin your board on your wall. That is you all done, and doesn't it look fab!

I love my memo board, I have white walls in my craft room and wanted something to brighten the place up. I love the amount of fun you can have with it to, you can really go crazy by mixing up lots of colours,

Why not also try painting stripes or spots on the edges instead of a plain colour!

When you are done, why not email me in some pictures of your creation! I would love to see them and I will also set up a little feature showing them off on the blog! Remember to leave your name to so I can give you a shout out.
